i always hear continuous fan running sound but the sound comes from under the left side of the palm rest.
is there a fan on that area or might be something wrong with it? i thought the fan should be on the right side of the laptop because when running at hotter temperatures, then i hear a louder fan noise out from the right side where the heatsink is.

I'm not sure if you have a problem or not but i hardly ever hear a fan on the left side. The only noise I usually hear from the left side is the dvd drive or when I boot up.

it's not really noticeable but you will hear the noise when it's quiet.

are there 2 fans or only 1 fan in the machine? because this low fan noise on the left side is always there but then you will hear the louder fan noise kickin in on the right side when the cpu gets hot.

ok i found out the noise actually comes from the hard disk because in NHC when i enable the hard disk spin down, when the hard disk is not used, it turns off and the noise also goes off... but that's weird the hard disk makes such noice when spinning even though it is only noticeable when in quiet environments because in my past laptops you wouldn't even hear the hard disk except when it's loading stuff...
this noise sounds to me like if the hard disk has it's own fan when running
