from the Vaio FZ Owner's Post ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=128804&page=16)
it seems people have seen in the fineprint that blueray equipped Vaios (i.e. FZ180 and some FZ190s) will not have a working AV button. I wonder if Vista is lacking driver support for the blueray drive as well, but leaves the regular CD/DVD drive alone. Some people say reinstalling the Sony drivers from the support site on the sonystyle.com webpage at least reestablishes Fn key function.

As of this writing there are no FZ models with Blu-ray and an Intel chipset. The InstantOn feature is Linux-based and likely NVidia has not developed a linux driver for their latest mobile chipsets. Also, playback of Blu-ray content requires HDCP which is not yet implemented in linux.
An InstantOn feature capable of playing Blu-ray would have to be based on an OS that is HDCP capable and this would require a complete rewrite by Intervideo.
The AV Mode button on a model without InstantOn may only be used within Windows to launch a selection of media applications.
