    Hi,
Have anyone found a way to set the lid function to power on (from standby) when the lid is opened ?

If I close the lid - the laptop goes to standby (with orage light flashing).

However, on all other laptops I have used - opening the lid 'wakes' the laptop back up but with the SA, I have to press the power button (or space bar).

I realise this is minor but is an irritation - and I cannot find an option to fix this.

    Welcome any advice ?

    Cheers,
    t

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.

I do have those options on my Z Series laptop but not on the SA.

You need to go into "Advanced" (in the bottom right corner) in the Power Options of Vaio Control Centre. Options for what the lid does are there.

But of course, there is no option for waking the laptop up in there!

    You are correct.
The lid on open option is there for my Z series but not for the SA series.
This is bizzare that you cannot set the laptop to wake on lid open - this is a modern laptop & I cannot see why Sony would omit such a basic function.

    Anyways, thanks for you suggestions,
    Cheers,
