    Dear all Sony SZ owners,

I am hearing that this res is a little big low for some people. Would it be possible if someone could take a picture of their desktop so i can see how big things are?

If you could demostraight how big the START button is i would be grateful.

Not sure if the res is going to be good enough for me and may have to go for the Asus V6J?

I did go to the Sony store to take a look but they would not allow me to turn the notebook on!!!!!

    Thanks all

    Darren

The res. is good for this notebook. It is the lowest resolution on any machine I have right now so I did notice a bit of difference when I first got it but I got used to it in a big hurry.

My sister has a 14in T43 with 1400x1050 and I found that the resolution is a bit too high for me. in 15in sizes, the "S" or "+" in the resolution description is a necessity.

I'm a software engineer, so the more pixels the better, but not if I need a magnifier glass to look at it :)

I had an X200 from dell till recently and 1024x758 was ok for most things, even development (with the caveat that a pIII is rather slow these days at compiling code).

ps: can't wait for my sz to arrive and put suse on it! :)

The res is very comfortable. it is very easy to read the screen. I don't have any problems with it at all.

Well, after coming from a 10.4" screen with 1280x768 resolution, a 13.3" with 1280x800 does seem a bit big. However while the 10.4" needed "large system fonts" in order to see anything, the 13.3" does just fine with normal fonts. In fact this is the first PC I've ever used normal fonts on (yeah, I know most people don't bother using the system font setting but I like high resolution and yet have a thing against reading 3 point text).
