    hi. i've had several units to test, including HP, Toshiba, DELL, and Sony.

    so far the sony biometric reader (sz430n, 650n, 660n) work very well, and read without fail. HP was the worst, getting lots of bad reads.

    i just wanted to share this. thanks.

    i agree with the observation.

    i had a toshiba satellite m100 for my previous laptop, and the fingerprint reader was mediocre at best. i am using a sz483 now and it works much, much better.

    Yep.. I have the SZ650NC and I must say its the best biometric reader I have ever used. It has been 100% accurate for the last month. And this includes sometimes scanning a finger that isnt enrolled to make sure it isnt too lax with its verification.. always detects a mismatch
