I’ve been waiting for 1 year now for a laptop with a reasonable weight (3kg) and 17” enhanced display.

samsung has a lightweight model (M40), but the screen quality just can’t compare to the sony ones.

so, the million dollar question…when is sony going to introduce a thin & light 17” laptop??? Just can’t believe they aren’t capable of squeezing down the bulky A series into a more portable form factor.

is there anyone here in a position to answer that question??

PD: just can’t believe 17” apple powerbooks have been around for years now yet we, people in the windows world, are forced to stress our back with heavy machines if we want to have some decent display area.

Lightweight desktop replacement style notebooks is certainly a small niche. Honestly, I don't know if you'll find anyone but those that pride themselves on being cutting edge with design doing much with a light weight desktop replacement. Samsung and LG have mostly replaced Sony in many areas regarding this.
