ugh.. so now i'm pretty frustrated :(

so i got my laptop, i was pretty happy with it, i installed a game (lunia) and it worked fine with the preinstalled vista home premium 32bit. then i restarted my laptop and it stopped working. other games that need to connect to the internet to patch itself also stopped working. later, i find that avast cannot update itself because it cannot connect to the internet, and soon after my firefox also does not work (IE also doesnt work). yet, i know it's not my internet connection because chatting programs (like AIM and MSN messenger) work fine. does anyone have a solution for this? my guess is that it's the norton internet security firewall but i can't uninstall it because my laptop came with no cd's and the file it requires to uninstall is "spbbc32" which is not anywhere on my laptop. =[

You can try downloading the file from the internet using another machine. But the main problem is that it might be something else besides Norton. It might be Windows firewall, or something very similar. Besides, if it is norton, you can just disable it and see whether the Internet connection works or not.
