Yes this is a (small) rant.

I have a TT which I like very much and have even talked about here. I also this weekend purchased sony newest touchscreen walkman media player.

So it's a decent player with very good sound and a nice screen.

So here's where Sony just doesn't get it. Both the player and the TT come with noise canceling earbuds. But even though the earbuds themselves look identical the plugs are different and neither will work in the other!

    How dumb is that!

    Ok done now......

Is it just the walkman having a unique plug for its earphones? I'm assuming the TT uses the standard headphone jack plug.

But with Sony MP3 players, I remember they used to require users to convert to some Sony format rather than using Mp3, which was a bit lame too.

It's actually the TT which uses a unique plug for the noise canceling feature. You can use regular phones with both devices, but the buds are actually decent sounding so it would be nice to only carry one pair and use on both units.

What's really stupid is that I'm sure I could cut and switch the plug between the two sets because the remainder of the buds are identical
