I have owned a vaio desktop for many years now, and in the course of my ownership I just find these nice little design perks that you would never think of but turn out to be really useful.

For example the keyboard that came with it has the ability to stand up on its back edge, which clears desk space if you need to read or write stuff. This is the only keyboard I have ever seen that can do this.

My question is, are there any little things like this about sony notebooks that people don't really mention?

Typically, more user buttons (volume, DVD controls, wireless on/off, usually good touchpad, cameras). Style wise, there is very little in comparison. Software bundles are pretty good, if slow at times (click to DVD, Vaio Zone). With the new TX series, you will find carbon fiber lids. Usually, you can also find very good imported cases made by sony, but only released in Japan (available on ebay usually). This might not seem to important until you purchase any notebook and then have to read the many threads of people trying to find the perfect case. Sony makes them for each model. Most importantly, Sony screens are typically the best in the business. I am biased towards Vaio subnotebooks, so take these comments as coming from someone who has used main subnotebooks from Sony mainly.
