The Sony product that you have inquired about is currently with a technician. The repair has not yet been completed. Repairs take approximately 10 working days to complete..

when i've sent in apple laptops and it seems they turned it around faster. i want my sz back

On standard warranties 14 days turnaround is standard unfortunately. (Thats door to door).

Even though you may get faster turnarounds, its usually case dependant rather then manufacturer dependant. I would be suprised if the average turnarounds between mainstream manufacturers varied by more then a couple of days.

Its all costed and a balance is made between pissing of customers and wasting resources by having staff sitting around waiting for machines to come in for repair.

And it appears 14 days door to door is the period they have all settled on.

The only warranties that improve on that are Business Class ones. But ofcourse you pay for that.

In my experience IBM are the best wrt to warranty claims and the service for your $. But most of the IBM machines we've had have been bundled with the 3 year NBD warranty (at a very competitive price I might add).

A stupid argument. As they should have proportional more service agents aswell then.

I agree. Apple is actually a lot better than Sony in many ways. Their software is pretty good (OSX is better than Windows in several cases, iTunes owns WMP, etc.). Apple's iPods are better than sony's walkman running at the unpopular atrac3 format. The Macbook Pro is better than the Sony FE in almost every way.

Apple is NOT puny. Period. Sony just doesn't treat their customers with the quality support the customers need. How about Dell? Why is their tech support better than Sony? Or how about HP?

Why doesn't sony just hire more technicians? Ever thought of that? Busyness is no excuse for slacking off.
