i just bought a sony vaio s460b at best buy. The first day the display seemed to be working beautifully. The next day i noticed that whenever i slightly shook the laptop, a small group of pixels near the center of the screen would begin to shake around (just like if someone was to press their finger against the screen). It doesnt really bother me too much other than the fact that it is a brand new computer. Any suggestions? is this a sign of worse things to come?

I would try to talk to Best Buy and get a replacement if possible. It shouldn't behave like that (unless you are really shaking it or pressing it). I am not quite sure you can argue your way through because the pixels are not technically dead. Then again, it is in the center of the screen and you probably have enough pixel numbers being affected. Good luck.

I remember in a specific forum of vaio ppl talking about this problem (2 spots in screen like somebody has pressed with finger) and remember that it was when closing that 2 keys of keyboard pressed screen.
(excuse my poor english... I'm spanish)

I had the same issue a few years ago with a Toshiba laptop purchased at COMPUSA. In the end, I was able to exchange it for a brand new one without the screen problem. Good luck.
