    Hello,

I just recently installed a 64 bit version of windows 7 on my sz650 and so far everything is working great. Most of the important drivers have already been detected by windows. The biggest inconvinience I have is that I can't seem to find a touchpad driver for the 64 bit version of windows 7. Th touchpad works fine and I can use it but I cant use the scroll function. I've been looking
all over the internet for a compatible driver and it's driving me crazy. i really don't want to go back to vista as I like 7 a lot better. Has anyone gotten the scroll function to work on 64 bit 7? If you have can you please post a link to the driver? thanks.

    Hi baadsha88,

Did you manage to get the FN keys to work?

What about HDD shock protection & battery over-charging protection & the fingerprint reader?

Can you please post the link to get all the 64 bit drivers?

I also own sz650 laptop, and just installed Win 7 RC 64-bit.

    Thanks heaps!

How about the driver for the video cam? The ones that have been linked to on this forum state that it basically works with Skype, but you get no LED on indicator.

got the fingerprint reader to work, apparently after windows update, it will install UPEK driver & software.. neat.. :)

however, still have no clue on how to get the Fn keys to work.. ;(

nor could I find 64 bit drivers for sz650.. sony should really be ashamed as this laptop is supposed to be a premium product.. and owners expect premium support..

amro, did you manage to get the web cam working with skype? I haven't tried installing skype..

anyone has links to sz650 64-bit drivers? thanks..

I got the Fn keys working in my FZ. I used the 64 bit drivers for VGN-FW-290.
You need to install the required 64 bit drivers and apps for this functionality in this order.
    1. SFEP driver
    2. Sony shared library
    3. Setting utility series
    4. Vaio Event service

    Hello guys,
since Vista x64 was working for me it's Windows7-time :D

I'm trying but did not get everything working.

Does anyone have the "Sony Video Shared Libary"?
    Mine isn't working :(

    Guys/gals,
Maybe we should fix this post by sharing some info, i mean you all figured something out... but what-how-where

About the battery issue, i have it too. It seems there is some hardware in the battery like a setting switch. I had it on 80% just before reinstalling windows, vista then XP and 7, all 32 bit, and after the install no matter what I'd do, all drivers ok, the thing is always charging up to 80%, i cannot change it in the control center or batter options or whatever its called. So I suggest you take it back to 100% before reinstailing any OS.

Im about to replace the hard drive (s.m.a.r.t. failure after just 2 months) with seagate momentus 7200.3, if you need instructions for opening any SZ 2/3/4/5/6/7 (mine is sz750n) its here:
    http://laptoplogic.com/resources/detail.php?id=43
if the page says server error just refresh it couple of times. you can clean the dust too btw cos the fans are kind a ()up in any sz.

I want to install W7RC 64bit on the new HDD, are you saying windows it will install most of the drivers, or should I manually install, are there any 64bit drivers available?
    cheers

W7 will install whatever drivers that are being made available to it from its install package. The rest you might have to search for yourself.

So far I had to manually install my Vista bluetooth driver, downloaded from Sony eSupport for my model.
