    hi everyone,

im new here and just recently bought a t250p. The laptop came with 512mb and a 60gb HD and I was just wondering what should I do in order to make this laptop go faster. This laptop is used for basic things like email, word, internet etc.

I plan to get another 512 stick but not sure which one to get, I dont understand the MicroDIMM and SODIMM and how pins and such.

The HD is big enough for me since I will be only using this laptop to type up documents, power point presentations, internet, emails and etc. But do i need to get a HD with a higher RPM rate?

Lastly do you guys/girls feel that is it worth it to upgrade the processor? and is that even possible? I have the 1.2 and can get a 1.5 for $90.

there is no 1.5GHz ULV processor, so i doubt you can upgrade.

you need microDIMM, the vaio t has 2 slots, make sure you have 1x512mb not 2x256mb, otherwise you may want replace both of them with 512mb.

the drive is a 1.8 inch drive, they are not sold individually and don't come in higher rpms

this is not a very upgradeable computer b/c it's half the weight and has double the battery of a mainstream notebook. but loading up on ram will make it plenty fast for basic tasks.

okay so i have decided to do only the RAM according to what you have said, so the only type that will be compatible to my laptop would be microDIMM

    not soDIMM?

You can only use microdimm. One of the best things you can do to speed it up is to get rid of the junk software and minimize the number of background processes you are running. The speed of the laptop should be fine for what you are using it for, the tx and txn's aren't really any faster than the T.
