It give me problems with gradient colors on myne Vaio FZ190 Nvidia 8400gt.
There are heavy lines instead of smooth transitions in color palet picker screen. Is it related to the video setting or Nvidia can't handle PS3.
    Please advise

The PS3 is just a video input source, just like a VCR. The PS3 does all the work...all your computer has to do is show the moving image. This is probably related to video settings, or perhaps a problem with the cable you are using to connect the PS3 to your notebook.

Ah. I'm afraid I'm a bit out of my depth there. That may be a combination of video settings and the NVidia card not being able to handle the resolution at which you are working. Have you tried running at a lower resolution to see if it works better?

Change the resolution? On a laptop? You are joking, right? Laptops should ALWAYS be run at their native resolution otherwise the display will look horrific. Changing the color depth might be a viable suggestion to a laptop owner, but in this particular case that's only going to exacerbate the problem. But I can't imagine why someone would EVER suggest changing the resolution on a laptop.

I am not a PS user so i can't really offer a real suggestion but as the Nvidia card is no slouch, I can't imagine it being the issue, but the DRIVERS might very well be. My suggestion is to check on a PS forum and see if folks know of any issues with PARTICULAR versions of the drivers.

It's a troubleshooting step...the higher the resolution, the more taxing it's going to be on a video card. As long as you choose a resolution in keeping with the LCD's aspect ratio, it really doesn't look half as bad as everyone seems to think. Sure, the native res gives the BEST image, but that doesn't mean that lower resolution images are suddenly going to look grainy, blurry, or like the end of the world is at hand, and lowering the resolution to run a graphics-intensive application is a perfectly viable troubleshooting step.

It is something with drivers. Do not get 8400 gt if you are using photo editing, it is horrible transition grom RAW format and colors render in patches. I used it on nvidia 7600 no problems.
