    hi,

    can anybody elaborate on sound quality i.e. build in speakers and sound via headphone out? i do listen to a lot of music while working, and sound quality is somewhat important to me. any information, insight would be greatly appreciated.

    The speakers on the Z are definitely on the poor end of the spectrum. I also find that the sound isn't fabulous through headphones either. But the addition of the free noise-canceling headphones in the package is a nice touch that helps mitigate the sting of the poor sound quality somewhat.

    It's ok through headphones depending on the sensitivity/power requirements of your headphones.

    The speakers are awful, period. Really my only design complaint about the notebook.

    I use bluetooth headphones and it's pretty good that way as well (assuming the BT compression doesn't drive you mad).
