    has anyone ordered OEM compatible batteries from ebay? i'm wondering if they are safe to use... since they aren't made or sold by sony... thanks.

    I'd say avoid, mostly because they're made by a 3rd company that does not necessarily know the power requirements of the laptops nor do they probably test batteries as well.

    Might want to read the Battery Guide for a little info.

    its best NOT to use generic battery on you laptop. the reason they are cheaper because they do not use Japanese cells. unstable power source could decrease component life dramatically.

    that's a shame cuz they dont seem to produce any genuine batteries for the Z1 anymore.
