I have a VGN-AR550U laptop. According to the property page for the Display adapter it is: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT. I want to be able to run a Powerpoint presentation where the slides are being shown on a big screen and the notes are shown on the laptop screen. I understand this has to be done thru a dual monitor type of setup. Can I test this without actually hooking up the big screen or does it automatically go into a dual monitor mode when you plug in the second monitory. When I select presenter view it says I don't have a second monitor.

    TIA

You can test it with another monitor. It doesn't necessarily have to be a projector.

No, you can't test it without a second display of some sort.
