hi guys, i am proud owner of vaio fe690, great machine, love it. only fault to me is the battery life, i got the default battery which doesn't last me long, anywhere from 40-70minutes is what it gives even when the screen is dim and everything. if i unplug the power cord, it goes down to 89% in minutes. i dont know if its problem with battery or thats how it is, im thinking of getting the bigger capacity battery which they claim will atleast last 3hrs, but its damn expensive almost $300, anywhere to get it cheaper, say for $100-150 or less than 100. didn't think batteries costed that much. thanks

well i have a fe880, which could last me for 3 hours with the standard battery. Maybe the life of your battery is shorten because of keeping your battery inside the computer while it is plugged in to the AC power for a long period of time.
