sony vaio laptop:data card not connecting to internet

i have a tata photon plus data card. i plugged it into my sony vaio laptop. and after running the photon plus application, i clicked on connect to get the message:network terminated. repeatedly.
1.tried all the ports on the laptop with no success
2.went to device manager, uninstalled and reinstalled the data card. updated the drivers with no success again
3.reactivated the photon plus and it returned the message activation successful. but again gave network terminated message on clicking connect
4.plugged it into other laptops where it connected successfully, but not on sony vaio.
5.finally called tata photon customer care who raised their hands and said that there is no connectivity issue. if it is connecting on other laptops and not on sony vaio, then its a problem with laptop.

please resolve the issue
