    if i uninstall programs from my vaio will they remain on my recovery partition?
    so if i was to recover my laptop all those stupid trial programs would come back?

    As long as you don't reclaim (reformat the hard drive and delete that partition) the recovery partition, everything will still be located in it, eg. OS, programs, etc.

    I would use the recovery wizard and make the CD's/DVD so you have a hard copy of it as well. If you do reformat and use the recovery discs to restore the OS, all of the "extra" pre-installed programs will be reinstalled as well. However, you can use the recovery discs to only restore certain applications and the driver set. You just need to install your own licensed version of whatever OS you want to run.
