I just purchased a vgn-260p notebook and when I turned it on one of the pixels stayed bright blue, it does not change. So when you have a darker then bright blue screen your eyes go right to it. I returned this notebook and recived another new one with a pixel that stays bright red in a different place, I returned that one and recieved another with the bright blue pixel that won't go away. I can not get a straight answer from sony on this, one department says they can fix it and the other says it is normal. Is this normal?? I have never experienced this with the 5 other notebooks I have owned.

It's a dead pixel and it could happen on any laptop. Depending on the return policy, some manufacturers allow you to exchange it with only one dead pixel while some require you to have at least a certain amount of dead pixels, like 5, to qualify for an exchange.

If there is not fee associated with the exchange, just keep exchanging till you get a good one.
