does anyone know if sony plans to come out with a series to replace the z1 series anytime soon? (z2 series, maybe?) maybe within the next few months and with a better graphics card than the z1? (that is what's holding me back from buying the z1 right now)

The Z1 was released just over one month ago. Don't expect a replacement any time soon.

Sony just recently "refreshed" the Z1 series - they are now called the Z1W instead of the Z1V. The standard processors/chipset were upgraded to 1.7ghz/802.11b/g. Unfortunately, they left the screen and video subsystem intact.

I really like the Z1 series and will gladly upgrade to it once Sony installs a real graphics chip and their XBrite screen.
