    so i just got my new laptop

    and i tried connecting to my internet [dsl] at&t wireless router

    but its telling its connected but i only have limited connectivity and i really cant surf the internet

    can someone help on why i cant go on the internet

    Reset the router/modem.

    Unplug them and replug them in.

    Look for a reset button or use another computer to access the router and reboot it through the router interface

    Is it the only computer connected to the router? If not it could be that DHCP is not enabled on the router

    no we have the family pc connected to the router aswell.

    but im still having trouble with my new laptop when i connect my laptop with the cable connected to the router it works fine but once i disconnect and select a network using wifi it tells me that i only have limited connectivity.

    oh p.s. i put the right wep key too incase your wondering

    and ive connected my psp and my other friends laptop he has a dell xps and it wasnt a problem all i had to do is enter the wep key and all was good. but yeah i cant get online with my laptop

    Were all the devices online at once (like using the net on the PSP and the family computer at the same time)? If they were that rules out DHCP. Have you tried deactivating the security completely just to check? Some adapters support different security standards (like 128bit keys instead of 64bit).
