I have the sz160. I noticed on the desktop or any windows(not windowed programs, but stuff like IE) I see white specks flickering in certain colors like blue,lt grey, but not white or brown or black.
    Any idea why?
I dont see that issue with the "stamina" mode.

So anybody else having this issue? It almost looks like static on the screen. its white pixels randomly flashing on the screen. On a scale of 1-100 and 100 being "snow" on your screen, its like a 1 or a 2. But if you stare at your screen, you'll constantly see it flashing

The "flashing" you refer to most likely has something to do with the refresh rate, and it's normal. The "sparkle" is an issue that most LCD's have to varying degrees. Apparently it's inherent to the way the LCD is manufactured. Nothing you can do about it, i'm afraid, other than to not stare at it so intently. :p

ok I thought this would happen with my wording. not sparkling from the glossy screen. sparkling like the pixels are blinking. its individual pixels randomly flashing to what appears to be white. Like tv snow, but very little. you have to look at the screen closly becuase it does flash on/off fast and its random over the screen.

yeah, mine happens with the intel video, not nvidia. It only started within the last month or so. I tried changing drivers, but nothing fixed it.

exactly. it's evident especially on grayish backgrounds like in MS Paint.

Is it within warranty? Sounds like you need to contact Sony for a repair, or at least give tech support a go.

btw...I'm still having this issue on the Intel graphics, but when I use an external screen it doesn't do it. When I'm done with my college semester in a couple weeks I'm going to look into getting it serviced I guess...
