Hi I am rather new to these forums so I apologize if I am not following a rule or posting correctly.
I am going to buy the sr290 soon with all the discounts but I had a question about the color scheme.
Does the Platinum Silver color use a better material on the cover? or would it be the same as the black?

No, the platinum silver has a glossy paint coat on top of the standard magnesium alloy lid. The black/regular silver SR's just have no paint just shin(er...sparkley?) magnesium lids, while the the platinum silver has a the magnesium lid with a paint of glossy "platinum silver" coating... your simply paying for the looks.... i would recommend seeing the premium coat in person before shelling out 50 bucks for it. Many people have commented on how the black SR looks the best(i havdnt seen any of them in person prior to picking my black SR... so im not 100% sure on how the all look)
