    Hi,

I've got a new VAIO SA 13 premium (SVS13A) with HDD. I want to replace the HDD with an SSD, but then I found a twisted hdd sata cable coming from the HDD caddy to the motherboard, which I'm not sure how to pull out. Is there any guide about replacing the HDD in this model (I've seen some guides for the 15 model, which is very easy)

sure this question is very dumb, but any "graphical" guide will be very much appreciated

    thanks

    fran

You first have to remove to "white" screws at motherboard connector (next to ram slot).
Then remove 4 screws around hard drive.

thanks for your answer ... the problem I've got is, after removing the "white" screws, shall I pull "upwards" the connector, right? Is it hard to remove the connector? mine it's a bit tough, I don't want to break a fresh new laptop :(

You need to remove the battery pack first to avoid electric shock. Then just pull out that sata cable gently, then replace your HDD with SSD.

    Just pull straight up.
You can remove battery or leave it there. There is no power on that connector to harm anything.
