is the large capacity worth it on the sz? its listed as 5.5 hrs vs 4 normal but i'm guessing actuals are a bit different- plus the fact that the sz large capacity sticks out. anyway, i was hoping to get some opinions on this. thanks

I think it's worth it (although preferably if you can get a good deal for one; at full price I'm not so sure).

When I had my SZ, I was able to get pretty close to that 5.5 hour mark they mention (and could sometimes push it to as much as 6). Comparitively with the regular battery I could only get around 3.5 hours most of the time. And when you consider the possibilities of traveling with both the extended battery and the regular battery, you should be pretty set for battery life.

Regarding sticking out, I didn't think it was such a bad thing (and since it raised it from the desk, it helped to keep it cooler, I think). The only inconvenience I guess was that it made the fit into a notebook bag a little odder.

sorry to be vague, but what i meant was in the vaio configuation on the sony website, not an additional battery. but either way i'm thinking itll be a good idea. then i can upgrade to a 7200 rpm hard drive without shortening it it an unmanageable length
