I have an HP notebook right now, and one convenient feature is the smartdisk slot since my digital camera uses a smartdisk. I just pop it out of the camera and into the computer.
Anyway, reading the specs on the sz160, I didn't see a mention of this. I don't know if I might have missed it.
Thanks,
Ken

I'm not sure what a smartdisk is, but the sz comes with a multicard reader that I have used for sd cards.

smartmedia? rather than "smartdisk?"
if yes, sony's (bonus) card reader won't work!
you will need a reader connect through USB or a PCMCIA adaptor.

You have to be careful with terminology, since "smartcards" are officially credit card sized plastic cards with embedded computer chips (ie. the card you plug into a DirecTV system). And there are notebooks with built-in readers for these cards.
Sounds like you mean SmartMedia (a now obsolete standard that never went above 128mb), or SD (Secure Digital), or one of the many other memory card formats...
Edit: so many spelling mistakes... -
Sorry, I meant SD Card.
So the sz can read an SD card?

yes it adaptor takes SD cards. use mine with it all the time
sz question: can it read a smartcard?
