    Hi,

I recently purchased a Sony SZ120 P/B and noticed that the right side of the keyboard -- from H,Y,B onward -- "sinks" into the laptop when I'm typing, as if there is more air underneath the keys and less support. Is that because the DVD player is on that side? (The left side seems fine.) Does anyone know how to fix it, or if Sony will replace it?

    Thanks,
    KW

That sounds a little strange that it would sink in. Do you mean the entire keyboard just sinks from H-Y-B onward or just a portion and the far right side, where the PageUP/PageDown keys are do not sink?

Here's a picture I linked from wretch's photo album, showing whats underneat the keyboard.

My guess is if the entire right side sinks, then either that mesh plate is missing or broken. You could pop off the keyboard and take a look, it is not hard. Just unscew 1 screw in the middle on the bottom of the laptop and then push in slowly and carefully the 4 tabs at the top of the keyboard. After that the keyboard will come off.
