On my Sony Vaio SZ270P/C, if I turn on the laptop with the wireless switch in the off position, then turn it on after Windows (XP Pro) has finished booting, then wireless works fine (connects, etc). On the other hand, if I turn on the laptop with the wireless switch already in the on position, then Intel Proset/Wireless is unable to connect, saying the hardware wireless is disabled and I should turn it on. Switching the wireless to off then back on at this point doesn't help. I must reboot the computer with the wireless in the off position again.

So, basically, I have to always remember to turn on the computer with the wireless in the off position then turn it back on after boot completes if I ever want to use the wireless during that session.

I would like to be able to leave the wireless switch in the on position when I turn on the computer and have the wireless work. Has anyone else run into this problem or know a fix? I've tried Sony's support, who gave me the standard "reinstall driver" followed by "reinstall system" routine. Thanks.
