I ordered the sz340p11 which theoreticly comes with bluetooth built in and I can't seem to find it at all in the laptop. I am trying to figure out if the hardware is accually exists or did the company that I ordered it from misadvertised it. Is it worth departing with my laptop for the return just for bluetooth?

If it is an SZ, you should be able to see the Bluetoon LED light up when you boot the system. It is blue and located directly below the LCD in the center, though it is the right most LED. Also go to the Device Manager and ensure that Bluetooth is enabled. If it is and you still cannot use it, go into the Sony wireless manager and manually select bluetooth. The manager should be in your task tray if the computer is new and you have not messed with it too much. It is a black icon. If infact, you do not have bluetooth and you are going to use it less than regularly, you could simply buy an inexpensive USB bluetooth port.

(I am not sure what the p11 means, so you may very well have a foreign model that does not correspond to any of the instructions I just gave for a US model.)

The SZ340P11 is a US model. It's one of the set SZ340 sku's that Sony has created so companies like Newegg and CDW have different SZ340 sku's to sell. They are essentially set configure to order sku's, or at least that is how they consider them.

pwaggs has it right on what to do to get the Bluetooth working, but from my information on the SZ340P11 it doesn't have Bluetooth. The SZ340P10 does, but the model you purchased does not have it.

I bought mine at pc connection and they said it does. I kinda knew it didn't have it cause I couldn't find it in any of the hardware. And apperently the 10 is out of stock.

    ugh.

It has become more of the prinicple of the matter. I can live without the bluetooth...infact it is probably more secure.

Call them up and see what you can get out of them. Sometimes when there is an error you can get something for free out of them...
