Hi, I just did clean install windows vista and for some reason after I installed VAIO event service and Setting Utility Series, the s button does not work anymore. When I open SBMsg, instead of getting option to customized S1 button for muting and S2 button for displaying external device, I got this DVD Button configuration which I don't have. Also when I open VCCSpecialButton, I got an error message "S Button, You can't launch".

    Help please?

    Thanks

I was having a similar problem with my vgn-sz483n where the s buttons couldnt launch. i solved it by doing a clean install of the vaio software in the following order:

    Sony Utils DLL
    Sony Shared Library
    VAIO Event Service
    Setting Utility Series
    VAIO Control Center
    VAIO Power Management
    HDD Protection Utility
    VAIO Camera Utility
    VAIO Camera Capture Utility

hope that solves your problem. i didnt get any help in my post so i dont know what else you could try.
