    sz750n/c GPS without using sprint?

    Can the sony sz750 n/c utilize its built in gps without being connected to the sprint wireless network?

    You probably mean GPRS as there is no SZ model with native GPS capabilities.

    Ahh, I must have misread it. I wish that I could use the sprint feature without buying a seperate package on top of my unlimited plan.

    Actually I looked again.

    It says: Enable GPS when WWAN is turned on.

    Then below it, it says: GPS settings, location search.

    It possibly isn't "true GPS" but a mobile phone network based system which will calculate your position relative to the position of the mobile phone masts.
    (GPS; position relative to satelite)
    But then, do you need it? And its going to drain your battery.

    If you need a positioning system, get a small handheld device, maybe look at Galileo (European) and Glossnas (or Glossnass) (Russian) too.
