i have a sony sz450, with a uk supplied power adapter. it says in the ac adapter that it accepts inputs of 100-240v, and 50 or 60hz frequency. japan is 100v, 50hz or 60hz as far as i can find out. does this mean it is fine to use in japan, given a simple socket convertor? or do i need to do something else??

I used my 460NC in Japan, China and Hong Kong a month ago and it works fine in those places.

I don't think you will have any problem w/yours too

I m not sure about Beijing, but I remembered I was in Shanghai 2 years ago and I was in GuangDong (Canton) last month, I don't need any type of adatper/transformer at all!

China's electrical outlets accept almost all the plug types from around the world. At least the hotels, factories I have been to have similar electrical outlets which looks weird but can take almost anything

All your power supply questions are answered here.

Japan is 100V 50/60Hz. That site even explains what types of power sockets are normally used. Very use if you are going to strange places.
