    hey guys
    i'm seriously having this problem is there any one who could help me out ? plz ?
    i got a sony vaio vgn-fj180 i once formatted my hard drive then i tried to install everything using recovery system but every time i get an error msg like "this update is not intended for use with your computer model".
    i also tried to install a clean windows xp professional and then i downloaded all drivers from sony website but again when i tried to install those drivers i'm getting the same error msg "this update is not intended for use with your computer model".
    plz guys help me what should i do i did try a thousand things to install drivers for my laptop but i can't.

    just use universal extractor and extract it and you should be able to install it it creates a temp folder and the setup exe will be in there and it should bypass the model check

    I also had this problem. I wanted to update the drivers for the Intel graphics since the drivers on my SZ6 seemed quite old. Maybe i will not gain anything from this but i got a similar error message. I did extract it first though.
