I have a sony sz120. I have been trying to install vista ultimate 32-bit but when i get to the very last step my computer gets stuck in this infinite loop where my computer restarts makes the sony vaio noise. Next, it says something about operating systems and has 3 choices windows vista, earlier version of windows, or rollback instillation of windows. This screen disapears very quickly but, after the times I've tried to install it, I usually end up clicking rollback instillation really quick. However, if you don't select rolling back the instillation it automatically chooses windows vista and then goes to a list of things like safe mode, safe mode with network, or something like that. I would like to know if maybe the version of windows I got is a dud, if anyone else is having this problem, if anyone else is running windows vista ultimate well on their sz, or if I'm doing something in the instillation wrong. Thank you.

You might have some corrupted files on the MS Vista disc...you might need to get another disc from MS (you only have to pay shipping, and I'll bet you can call them and get 'em to ship it free since it's their problem and not yours).

Try updating your BIOS (yes, that can have an effect) before installing.

I am curious if Vista Ultimate is that significantly different from the other versions. If so, have you tried any other versions and if you did, what where the results?

this disk worked on another computer error free. So i don't think it's the disc. I'll try updating my BIOS. One other thing I did try business and had the same problem.
