Hey everyone. I was wondering if you guys have a software that turns off the monitor? I used to have one for my dell but then it doesn't work with Vista. Thanks.

    I have a FE890

i got this program "monitoroff.exe" from this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=124920 its safe and vista compatible; if u got shortcut buttons u can also link this program to it (well my SZ can handle it) but make sure u got the RAM capability cos before i upgraded from 1GB to 3GB I found it lagged and sometimes didn't work at all (when using the shortcut buttons) :D

Ram compatibility? I'm not sure if you meant that when you upgraded from 1gb to 3gb it lagged? How is that possible? Or do you mean when you used to have 1gb it lagged when you used the software.

oops, yup sorry (i didn't re-read what i wrote properly) ... yeh, the pre-installed RAM jst wasn't enough it seemed cos when i put in the 2GB stick, startup and response times to practically everything speeded up tremendously!!

it saves battery life for one ... or in a private plc, u can switch off the monitor in one click/key press ... convenience i guess although power management will do it auto. for u!!
