S-Video is what i have been using. Best thing to do is to Get an S-Video cord for the video portion...then a RCA adapter for the audio -> otherwise without the RCA your laptop speakers will have to project the sound.

However some problems with S-Video is that if your respective country has a different format such as NTSC or PAL and your video card is set up differently to that format your picture on the TV will come out in Black and White.

    Anyways best of luck.

No clue on that one for the sz. however if it doesnt you probably need to buy a tv tuner card of some sort so you will get the option of s-video. as long as you have a slot for it in your laptop.

Really some useless answers here. The OP specifically asked for the SZ and you replied for something else. And what "slot" would you use in a laptop..

    For the OP.
There are some threads here about using a VGA->S-VHS adapter, do a search in the forum. You'll find a lot of answers

I'm looking at the sides of my SZ, and there looks like nothing that could connect it to a TV.

Do any of you SZ owners have a base?

Depending on what kind of tv you're talking about, some plasma and lcd tv's have a vga input which would work with the SZ. If not, you can try some sort of adaptor as mentioned before. The docking station changes the vga to a dvi I believe.

I have the base. No S-video. Only has dvi-d (which is great if you want to use hdmi...=P).

As someone else said best bet is to get a vga to s-video convertor (or vga to component convertor). Then you simply connect to the monitor out on the left hand side.

I think the only real downer to this laptop is the lack of s-video and optical audio out (I mean how many laptop's don't have optical audio now...my 8 year old toshiba had that...it doesn't take up any extra slot space either since it uses the same audio out jack).
