Just got a 24in lcd that runs natively at 1920x1200 and to my horror my tz can only go up to 1600x1200 for some reason

is there anything I did wrong or is this the max output for the tz?

Yes, it is possible but you need to "hack" it. I managed to do it with PowerStrip (small software tool - http://entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm) and getting the GMA950 timing parameters for 1920x1200 on my HTPC.

Beware - TZ's underclocked GMA950 (166 MHz) is really slow at 1920x1200 - which is possibly the reason why they did not enable this resolution in the first place :(

I replaced by TZ with Z precisely because of this.

I've been playing with PowerStrip v3.85.645 on Windows 7.7260 x32 and different versions of the Intel 945GM driver and still no success.

    I've tried versions:
    - 7.14.10.1151
    - 7.14.10.1387
    - 7.14.10.1437
    - 7.14.10.1504 [latest]

PowerStrip recognizes that my Dell S2409W can go to 1920x1080 but the custom resolution doesn't stick.

I'm using GMABooster to push it up to 400Mhz.

    The TZ doesn't have DVI/HDMI...

Using the built-in D-SUB/VGA output. The highest I can get it is 1680x1050.

Not a solution to your problem, but I am running Ubuntu on my TZ with a Dell 24" monitor at 1920x1200 with no problems. The hardware is up to it.

thanks for the info! glad to know the hardware can handle it. the only custom resolution ive been able to add is 1600x1200, so at least i know powerstrip is working. but anything above that hasn't been successful. anyone else able to share their experiences?
