    Hi,

I'm looking for a sleeve that can resist compressions within a messenger bag. maybe something which has a hard outer covering?

At the moment I'm using pro logic which is spongy but i'm not confident it in resisting accidental compressions within the bag. how well will the tz tolerate external compressions?

    thx.

Agreed, very expensive, but I have yet to see one that I like as much as the Sony carry case. I'm just fortunate that Sony had a promo when I ordered my TZ. :)

I ordered the VGP-CKTZ2/B today, it's the best looking tz sleeve imho.

It really depends on the type and strength of pressure you are talking about.

For regular use (and the occasional pressure) the Sony sleeves are adequate. My favorite all-rounder sleeve is the Elecom Zeroshock sleeve which I have used for both my former Vaio TZ and my current ThinkPad X61. The foam is good at absorbing shocks, but needless to say it is not going to protect your notebook as well as a hard case sleeve, which however will also be heavier.

As for how well the TZ takes pressure: not very well. All is relative of course, but due to the small, tight and thin design, the screen is fairly easily pushed against the keyboard, creating small marks (which can be removed in most cases). Hence, I suggest you get a cloth to put in between.

Good choice. As I mentioned, I have exactly the same sleeve. The zipper compartment in the front is very practical. I use it for my travel documents all the time. The fit is very snug, while at the same time offering very good protection.

I hope everything works out with your purchase from Shinza (which is an importer of Zeroshock sleeves, not the manufacturer), as I've read some bad comments about the company.

Do you know if the TZ with the large battery fits on the VGP-CKTZ2?

    The VGP-CKTZ2/B is the best-looking, best-smelling :p , easiest-to-open case that holds the extra-large battery.
