oh man! I'm really sorry, but here is a working way:

If you're sure you know your hardware and it's driver well, try to extract the setup files of the drivers and install them manually. It works!
Also if you're not sure about a device try booting by a linux live CD and use "lspci | more" command to get complete hardware information.
Don't worry we can work it out! ;)

This is the root of the problem, I think. If I remember correctly, the Sony device driver installers all look to the BIOS to determine the model. The fact that the BIOS is messed up needs to be dealt with before you go any further. Lots of things depend on a correctly operating BIOS.

thanx alot guys for ur response, i'm so glad that at last i get some replies for my post well now lemme tell in short what i've done so far ...
    1. i talked to a sony esupport representative he said i should install sony shared library i tried to installed it but again got the same error msg which is " this update is not intended to use with your computer model"
    2. another guy on sony esupport said i should reset my bios from cmos so i did get the default values by gettin into the cmos after presseing F2 but the result was same " error msg " appeared.
    3. i tried to install drivers in safe mode but again no result.
    4. i tried to install drivers mannualy but same error msg.
    5. tried with recovery dvdz but no success.

changed the operating system to vista business as it is recommended by the vendor then i download correct drivers for vista but when i tried to install them the same error msg appear.
    :(
no i've come to know as i've applied so many things and still the success is no where i think i can sense the problem its because of the bios.
its not allowing the drivers to install.
well now plz help me out and tell me how could i reset my bios ?
is there anyother way rather than getting in to the cmos ?
and one imp thing is that i tried to update bios by downloading the updated version of bios but when i tried to install it the same error msg appeared.
now plz tell me how can i reset my bios for SONY VAIO VGN-FJ180P ?

When you go to the BIOS, does the screen show the CORRECT model number for your machine?

Yes, your BIOS is screwed up. The machine name should show the model of your machine. You have two options. While viewing the BIOS there is an option to allow you to reset to the defaults. Try that first. If your model then shows up correctly in the Machine Name field you should be good to go. (I just re-read the entire thread and it looks like you already tried that.)

So that brings us to option #2. You need to contact SONY support and talk to them about this. Restrict the conversation to the fact that your BIOS is not showing the model name. Do NOT get side tracked with any other things you are trying to do. Keep this focused ONLY on the BIOS issue. Don't talk to them about drivers or anything else, except to explain that the driver installers all depend on the model number to be in the BIOS. The conversation is about the BIOS, NOTHING ELSE. If need be (and most likely it will) tell the support person you want to escalate this to tier two support. Be polite, be friendly, but be firm. If the person tries to steer the conversation to anything except the BIOS, ask for tier two.

Most likely you will need to download the installer for the correct version of the BIOS, but since it appears you tried that and the installer ALSO tried to look at the machine name, I am not sure WHAT the solution might be. Sony may be able to provide a way to FORCE the BIOS installer to work.

Post back with updates so we all know how this is going.

Bottom line, somehow the BIOS has been screwed up. Until this is fixed none of the other driver issues are going to work right.

well anyways my problemz been solved actually,
i downloaded the drivers from sony web site mannually then i used the universal extrator to extract them it made a separate folder of extracted files and there i got some files and folders in side that main folder, one of the folders was like " model check " and other one was " temp "
in the temp folder i found setup file i double clicked on it and it worked for me.
anyways thx alot for ur coperation and help :)

Even with the driver issue solved I would still be concerned that your BIOS is messed up. You said before you had tried to reinstall the BIOS but got the "not for your model" error there as well. I wonder if your new found trick for installing the driver might also allow you to reinstall the BIOS???

    Gary

P.S. Did you talk to tier one or tier two support at Sony? Tier one a "script readers", the tier two folks are usually quite good actually. You just need to be nice yet forceful in asking for the call to be escalated to tier two. Don't get mad, don't yell, sugar coat everything you say but tell them you need the call escalated. Has worked every time for me. I always play my "trump card": I have been in IT for almost 40 years and owned the first computer store in Cincinnati in 1976 when micro-computer were sold as a bag of parts! I make sure they know that EARLY in the conversation. ...big ol' grin...

Ask! It is that simple. Ask for a supervisor or specifically ask to talk to the next level of support.

Glad you got an answer. If the BIOS does not have the model number, then I wonder how/why you were getting the messages about the drivers not being for you particular model?
