    unkown device - ICH8M-E LPC Interface Controller - please adive

    Hi all,

    I format my lap (Laptop:VGNFZ180E) and install all the driver directly from Sony website, i still have unknown device, and when i double click on him i get this information:
    Intel(R) ICH8M-E LPC Interface Controller - 2815

    note: i already installed the INF chipset files...

    any advice/suggestion/patch/fix etc...

    ?

    Have you installed all the drivers ? It could be the Intel TPM driver.

    (Anyway, even if this device remains unknown, it won't matter)

    Well, just encountered same problem on sony laptop above. I went back over all drivers I had installed and only on driver wasn't installed. It was the "SFEP Driver (Sony) 7.0A - 7.0.0.5_101606_logo". Installed it and unknown driver problem went away.

    I am working on a Sony VGN-FZ240E...I had the missing ICH8M LPC Interface Controller missing also...Actually the Problems Reports and Solutions figured out that it is actually the Sony Firmware Extension Parser listed under System Components on Sony's support site...hope that this helps someone else.
