I'm a tad confused about the different memory options. I have seen this Corsair memory advertised and wonder if anyone could comment - Will it work on the SZ160 and whats the difference between 'normal' and value memory?

I used the Transcend DD2 667 memory to upgrade mine. Works justfine. Can't speak to Corsair.

I think my question now is this:
    Will 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) work inside the SZ?

I just want a definate answer. I phoned Sony and they could only tell me that 1GB DDR2 533Mhz is the memory, not whether its was 200 pin or 240 pin and so on. Hence the memory confusion.

I believe it will work, it is just the slower memory (533). I bought myself a couple of this ones and they work flawlessly. Allthough I haven't noticed any difference in performance.

If I am correct then I think that the faster memory will still run at ethe slower memory speed and same latancy so no real gain unless you can tell the SZ to run the memory bus at the fast er speed.

I just ordered the Corsair memory from newegg.com. They even took my non-US credit card. Amazing!

The SZ processor memory bus is 667, not 533. So using 667 memory I believe it would be _tad_ faster than 533.

So one says 533 and the other says 667! Luckily for me NewEgg refused my international credit card so my order never went though, so I'm back to square one again with njo idea which memory to buy :)

    I'll try phoning Sony again.
