    upgrade video card?!

    hi
    i have a sony vaio laptop (Model: FE21M -UK VErsion) which hv a Gefroce 7600 Graphic card .. and yestrday my laptop broken

    im thinkin to buy new sony vaio laptop CR series..
    i have 2 options about the the Video card
    1- ATI Mobility Radeon™ X2300 128Mb
    2- Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with Intel® Clear Video Technology with Total Available Graphics Memory of 358MB

    so my qestions .. can i upgrade the video card. i mean can i transfer the gefroce 7600 from my old sony vaio laptop to the new one ? which one can work?

    Neither laptop will be able to be upgraded. You cannot even pull the old GPU out either.

    you would be better off getting something better. sony is ok with laptop but get something from a laptop dedicated company.

    All depends on MXM, I mean I'm not sure If sony does and with the 2nd option it wouldn't matter if it was MXM or not as Integrated Graphics can't be replaced as it is soldered on the Mobo.

    the problem is i have 2 offer of CR Laptop
    Model CR520

    the first one (its about 1332$)
    2.1GHZ
    2GBRAM
    250GB
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ X2300 128Mb

    the secend one (its about 1100$)
    2.4GHZ
    3 GB
    320Gb
    Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with Intel® Clear Video Technology with Total Available Graphics Memory of 358MB

    in case i hv 2 Gb RAM from my old FE laptop so i 'll install them in the new one if can be

    so what do u advisie me to take
    by the way im not playin games on the laptop just watchin Movies in HD 720p qulity

    Integrated GPU will be fine for watching movies. (yes even HD 720p movies)

    @Tolkann, barely any notebooks uses MXM anyway. Certainly not mainstream notebooks such as Sony.

    is it going to be a big deffrient between the Integrated GPU X3100 and ATi Readon X2300
