when using this program, it always lowers the brightness of my screen. i have tried altering it under the graphics card tab, but it doesnt work. changing the percentages seems to make no effect.
any ideas???
BTW i am using vista on a sz4mn/b. is NHC any more efficient than vista at dynamic switching of cpu? it seems no matter what power plan i am on the cpu goes down to 1ghz when i am not doing much using just the vista poer plan things.
Also, what specifically does the s2 button do? does it lower the fan setting to 1(quiet) when you press it?
Also also!! Does vista automatically disable usb ports when they have nothing plugged in if the setting for usb says 'selective suspended settings enabled' or is there another way to make vista turn off unused usb ports?

does the option work correctly to alter screen brightness?
i am finding the power control settings very bemusing. not sure how to disable usb ports in vista, not sure how to lower GPU activity without using NHC or switching to stamina mode......
any help? -
I have SZ360 with Vista Business upgrade and every time I use NHC my brightness goes down to zero. I've look every setting on NHC and I can't seem to find it.
I really hate the new Vaio Power Management on Vista. When I was on Windows XP, I could get 3-4 hours of my notebook. Now I a little more than 2 hour, thats it.
I don't know how to fix the problem and I also need help. -
I'm not adept enough with it to know, and I'm also using XP.
-
Actually, it turns out a lot of its functionality is disabled for me. I see the ATI graphics controls, which are greyed out, and no way to change them. There's no LCD settings for me either. (Now I know what you meant)
If I didn't go to the site and look at what settings I should be seeing, I wouldn't even have known. I'm gonna try an uninstall then reinstall, and maybe the one available for Dell machines. (Dunno why it should work, but I may have to try it)
I hope it doesn't have anything to do with my having a Intel 915GM graphics chipset. If it's not supported, I guess I'm screwed. -
Damn. No change.
Am I missing something, or is the FS series not supported for some reason? -

does anybody have some powersaving tips when using vista? most info on the boards seem to be regarding xp systems.
-
By the way, I just posted on the official NHC forum about my model. It looks as if it's not supported, and perhaps no VAIOs are.

Looks like some people were working on some SZ series models though. Jack, were you one of those people over there? I'm wondering if you created that SZ ACPI interface yourself, or if they just went and included that in the software and it just works for you.
Maybe someone else here knows how to do this? I'm a bit lost.

dude i dont have a clue. i just found that NHC didnt work properly for my SZ 450, not sure if it is because of the notebook or because of vista.
-
I am sure its Vista problem. The more I use Vista, the more I hate it.
Vista is power hungry! Not efficient at all! -
Don't blame Vista. If you read my posts/links, you'd see that VAIOs don't seem to be specifically supported. I even looked in the ACPI folder in the NHC installation directory, and saw config files only for ASUS, Compaq, HP, Samsung, Fujitsu and IBM.
using NHC
