Hi I'm almost ready to order a Sony Vaio SR but I have a doubt regarding the graphic card option. I want to go with the integrated Intel Graphics 4500mhd because of the longer battery life. However I am planning on hooking it up to an external LCD monitor when at home via VGA. Will this graphic chip support the higher resolution of the external monitor? Or will I need to go with the ATI Mobile Radeon HD 3470 for this? I'm not looking into playing games with the laptop, so the resolution issue is my only concern.
    Thanks in advance,

I'm pretty sure it will be just fine
X4500HD is powerful enough to handle full hd 1080p content and blu-ray discs..
so i would think it should be able to power a monitor with high resolution

hey tony thanks for the reply. When you mentioned x4500hd is it the same as 4500mhd? i think the latter is the mobile version of the x4500hd?
btw, hows the battery life with your SR with hd3470?

Yeah they both have "HD" in the end.. that means it can handle HD medias

i get about 3 and a half hours of battery life
the intel igp will get around 5 hours or more of battery life
