hello, following several other posts from similar vaio vista installs i manage to get almost everything working on my s480p, this is what i did:

1- installed windows vista ultimate edition

2- updated windows vista with windows update

    3- Sony Shared Library
    ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SOASSL-A1298203-US.EXE

    4- Sony Utilities
    ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SOASNU-01298604-US.EXE

    5- Sony Notebook Control
    ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SOAOTH-00445800-US.EXE

6-Vaio Event Service (for control the Fn function)
    ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SOAVES-01302701-US.EXE
at this point all FN keys were working, including the brightness key

    7- TouchPad
    ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/ALDOTH-01347903-US.EXE
to be able to use the scrolling from the sony touchpad utility

At this point almost everything is working. The only thing i couldn't do is to make my windows recognize the memory stick properly. It shows up on the device manager as a mass storage controller without driver.
I've tried the memory stick update from sony's website, but it didnt really change anything.

Can anyone help me with this?
