    hi

i bought my vaio about 6 months ago and have no problems with it until the other day.
after turning the computer off i could hear a constant noise that waz very quiet and high pitched, after coming home from work that day i noticed it waz still doing it and has done it ever since. if i take the battery out it stops when it goes back in it starts again, its very queit(you have to have your head next to it to hear it). i phoned sony today and they told me that this was standard for this model, and it wasent a problem.

what do you guys think? seems a bit strange for the computer to make a noise when switched off.

    thanks l8ton

I owned a FJ270/b that had this same problem. After sending it in for service several times, Sony said that there's nothing that can be done about this noise. I have no idea what was causing it... but it definitely drove me crazy. One of the several issues I had with that computer.

Sony ended up letting me exchange it after lots and lots of complaining. :)
