    hiya,

I'm thinking about a vaio in January.

I want it to be a desktop replacement. Although it doesn't need to be anything fancy, I want it to be quick, and for the battery to have a looong life!

I'm not bothered about how big the screen is. I'm going to run it through a external box which splits the monitor signal to 3 monitors when I'm at home. It will also sit in a docking station.

I'm quite a big lad, so I'm not too bothered about it being small when I'm out, although that may be a consideration. However, a nice big keyoboard for my fat fingers would be good.

I may at some point in the future (when I replace it) start to use it for recording and editing music.

I probably won't use it for gaming - I'm a console man for that.

    Does anyone have ideas?

    Cheers

    John

What is your budget? Is the Sony Vaio the only model you will consider?

    Hiya,

No - would consider anything. I've had a Thinkpad all the time I've had a laptop - and want to try something different.

I've always liked the Vaios I've tried and seen.
