can anyone help me to connect the sz340 to an tv using the vga port.

i got an vga cable and on the other end, it has both s-video and rca.

I tried to connect it using the rca pin to my tv as my tv has an rca pin.

i connected the vga pin to my notebook and the rca pin to my tv and pressed the Fn+F7 on my notebook and it gives me 2 options(LCD Only, Setup) and the display goes off on my notebook for some seconds and comes back to the notebook itself, it doesnt get transfered to the tv at all...

can anyone help me how to do it??

    thanks

I have read so many reviews, and all I can find is, if your tv has an vga port you are good to go...yuu can connect the latptop to the tv.

If your tv doesnt have an vga, then just buying an vga to s-video/rca in cable wont work untill and unless you buy an converter box to convert the signal from vga to tv.

do not just buy an cable in ebay which says vga to s-video cable, I did the same and I am not able to connect the reason being SZ doesnt support tv out and the signals are differtent between vga and rca in.

I've tried connecting my VGA from my sz to my Samsumg lcd VGA but it doesn't detect my notebook (the notebook detects the tv though). I've read up other threads about others having trouble with sz and samsung (40" lcd) not being able to get it to work and haven't seen any resolutions to this yet...

All my other laptops connect to the tv via vga perfectly fine though. So, bad experience with VGA to VGA for me :(

I just got an pcmcia card which will convert the video from my sz notebook to an vga/s-video/rca, so now I have 3 options to connect my notebook to the tv. I have an rca in my tv, so I will use that to conenct it to my tv.

I got this pcmcia card for $20 in ebay.

I am yet to receive the item, waiting for it, I just got the item yesterday on ebay, its shipped today, so once I test for the quality, will keep you guys posted.

By the way the item # for the pcmcia card is 280113833474, search for this in ebay and you can find the pcmcia card.
